She came in on a garbled hail while the shuttle was spinning with its engines out, talked them down, matched, and extended an umbilical into the cargo bay.

Her complement so far: Captain Randall Jung, a K'Kree warrior the crew has been told to call Buddy, a halfling engineer named Foxlon, and a female voice on the comms that is not obviously a person.

That voice was tracking several other distress beacons and pods off the wreck, and it was the one that noticed the shuttle was still broadcasting a beacon of its own.
