Verum knew the species if not the man. The K'Kree hold a neighbouring empire, broadly neutral, and their warriors are not usually found this far into anyone else's sector.
He lowered the rifle and stepped aside the moment his captain called him off, and he twitched when the crew described themselves as prisoners.
