Structure

Decentralized fleet of explorer-ships. The Wayfinder sets broad priorities; individual ships operate autonomously. They share all discovered knowledge in a common archive called the Long Ledger.

Goals

Map the unmapped, recover pre-empire technology and knowledge, and maintain the Long Ledger as a shared resource available to all -- even enemies. They are the closest thing the frontier has to neutral scholars.

Philosophy

The universe does not care about our wars. It simply continues. They find this comforting. Knowledge belongs to everyone; discovery is its own reward.

Limits

Will not assist military operations with their maps or findings -- by any faction, under any circumstances. Three Driftwalker ships have been destroyed for refusing to hand over navigational data. The society mourned and held the line.
